Understanding
‘soul ties’
A soul tie is like a linkage in the soul
realm between two people. It links their souls together, which can bring fourth
both beneficial results or negative results.
The positive effect of
a soul tie: In a godly marriage, God links the
two together and the Bible tells us that they become one flesh. As a result of
them becoming one flesh, it binds them together and they will cleave onto one
another in a unique way. The purpose of this cleaving is to build a very
healthy, strong and close relationship between a man and a woman.
Matthew 19:5, "And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and
mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh."
Soul ties can also be found in close strong
or close friendships. They are not just limited to marriage, as we can see with
King David and Jonathan:
1 Samuel 18:1, "And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking
unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and
Jonathan loved him as his own soul."
The negative effect of
a soul tie: Soul ties can also be used for the
devil's advantage. Soul ties formed from sex outside of marriage causes a
person to become defiled:
Genesis 34:2-3, "And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of
the country, saw her, he took her, and lay with her, and defiled her. And
his soul cleaved unto Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the
damsel, and spoke kindly unto the damsel."
This is why it is so common for a person to
still have 'feelings' towards an ex-lover that they have no right to be
attracted to in that way. Even 20 years down the road, a person may still think
of their first lover... even if he or she is across the country and has their
own family, all because of a soul tie!
Demonic spirits can also take advantage of
ungodly soul ties, and use them to transfer spirits between one person to
another. I remember one young man I led through a deliverance; he was facing
severe demonic visitations and torment all thanks to an ungodly soul tie. I led
him to broke the soul tie, and the attacks stopped completely!
Ezekiel 23:17, "And the Babylonians came to her into the bed of love,
and they defiled her with their whoredom, and she was polluted with
them."
Different kinds
of soul ties:
1. Between people: (sexual intercourse, good and bad relationships,
people who
have wronged us, betrayed us, etc.)
2.
Covenants (married partner and ex-partner, evil vows, good and evil
rituals, contracts,
etc.)
3. Occult ties (medium, shaman, Reiki, etc.)
4.
Secret societies (Freemasons, satanic, Mafia, etc.)
5.
Groups of people (satanic rock bands, clubs, etc.)
6. Idols (any kind of contact with statues or
things associated with idols)
7. Pornographic
image (lust, self sex with image forms soul tie)
8. Deceased
(dead person you still hold on too)
9. Animals (people
who have had sex with animals)
10. Spiritual beings
(night demons, sex demons)
Sex is a tri-dimensional experience: spirit, soul, and body.
Anytime you have sex with a person you bond
with them.
Dr. Daniel Amen writes in his book, “Change
Your Brain, Change Your Life,” “Whenever a person is sexually involved with
another person, neuro-chemical changes occur in both their brains that encourage
limbic, emotional bonding.
Limbic bonding is the reason casual sex
doesn’t really work for most people on a whole mind and body level. Two
people may decide to have sex ‘just for the fun of it,’ yet something is
occurring on another level that they might not have decided on at all: sex is
enhancing an emotional bond between them whether they want it or not. One
person, often the woman, is bound to form an attachment and will be hurt when a
casual affair ends. One reason it is usually the woman who is hurt most is that
the female limbic system is larger than the male’s.”
As spiritual beings
with a soul, living in a body, we are designed to interact and bond with our
maker and with one another.
Indeed God has created us for fellowship in
such a deep and wonderful way that scripture describes us as being capable of
being ‘knit together’.
For
instance, as a group of people with one common purpose.
So all the men of Israel were gathered
against the city, knit together as one man. Judges 20:11
With a very close and beloved friend..
And it came to pass, when he had made an
end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the
soul of David. and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. I Samuel 18:1
Even with a stranger where there is a
heartfelt offer of help..
And David went out to meet them, and
answered and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto me to help
me, mine heart shall be knit unto you: I
Chronicles 12:17
With brothers and sisters within the
Body of Christ...
That their hearts might be
comforted, being knit together in love. Colossians
2:2
And not holding the Head, from which alt
the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit
together. increaseth with the increase of God. Colossians
2:19
In fact, not only are Christians members
of the Body of Christ, not only are they brothers and sisters within the family
of God, but scripture states that are also individually members of each
other!
For as we have many members in one body,
but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many,
are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Romans 12:5
However when a ‘soul
tie’ goes bad the same ‘phone line’ that is capable of transmitting blessing is
just as capable of transmitting fear, rejection, abuse, domination,
manipulation and control etc. and those on the receiving end know it all too
well. One sure sign that this has happened is when one person lives in
fear of another - living or dead
‘But if you bite and devour one
another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!’ Galatians 5:15
When we love someone we find strong
positive emotions rising up which bond us to that
person. We think positive thoughts about them. They are no longer a
‘neutral’ figure in our lives.
‘His soul was strongly
attracted to Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the young woman and

Likewise when someone has wronged us - or wronged one whom we love - then we feel strong negative emotions
rising up against that person. We think negative thoughts about them. They
are no longer a ‘neutral’ figure in our lives.
‘So Esau hated Jacob because
of the blessing with which his father blessed him, and Esau said in his
heart, "The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then I will
kill my brother Jacob" Genesis
27:41
The same soul tie that
can carry love can carry hate.
‘Then Amnon hated her exceedingly, so
that the hatred with which he hated her was greater than the love with which he
had loved her. And Amnon said to her, "Arise, be gone!" 2 Samuel 13:15
Ritual is also a powerful way of 'joining'
people.
Satanism, witchcraft, Mafia and paramilitaries etc
understand the power of ritual ‘ especially ritual with spoken vows - and use it to strongly bind members together.
Freemasons
rely on such rituals and refer to the powerful influence of the ‘mystic
tie’ that bonds all the world’s freemasons into ‘one’ universal
brotherhood with one language and one altar.
‘That sacred and invisible bond that unites
men of the most discordant opinions into one band of brothers,
which gives one language to men of all nations and one altar to
men of all religions, is properly, from the mysterious influence it
exerts, denominated the mystic tie; and Freemasons, because they alone
are under its influence, or enjoy its benefits, are called brethren
of the mystic tie’
People who masturbate over pornographic
pictures and films quickly become ‘locked into’
this secretive behaviour because when a person lusts after (i.e.' fantasizes’
about having sexual intercourse) with another person they have in fact
committed ‘adultery’ with them in their hearts. They have strongly focused upon
this person and sought to sexually bond with this other person in their
imagination thus giving the powers of darkness a legal right to attach
themselves to that imagined figure or figures. The powers of darkness are just
as happy to attach themselves to such imaginary photographic images just as
they are to attach themselves to idols.
"But I say to you that whoever
looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his
heart. Matthew 5:28
We are created by God to be capable of
this deep level of bonding
‘The one who joins himself to
the Lord is one spirit with Him’
I Corinthians
6:17
‘At that day ye shall know that I
am in My Father and you in Me, and I in you’ John 14:20
The ultimate example of 'oneness'
between two persons is Jesus and His Father. Jesus said:
"I am in the Father, and
the Father is in Me." John 14:10 "I and the Father
are one," He said". John 10:30
Ungodly grief leads to unbroken soul
ties with the dead.
We are to release the dead to Jesus. The
Bible pattern for mourning is that it be limited to several days (see Genesis
50:10 & Deuteronomy 34:8) The funeral service is designed to
‘commit our loved ones to God’ and natural grieving is right, respectful and
healthy.
Prolonged refusal to let ’death do
us part’ invites spirits of sorrow, grief, loneliness etc to take
advantage of this unblessable behaviour. Applies especially to stillborn babies
or miscarriages where often there is no funeral service, thus no release
mechanism available.
Important: Everything God created He
created for good purposes.
Satan cannot create new spiritual
principles and so he can only use existing principles.
‘Know ye not that he, which is joined to
a harlot, is one body’ for two saith He, shall become one flesh’ (1 Corinthians 6:16)
Therefore this ‘knitting’ or ‘bonding’
or ‘binding’ or ‘yoking’ or ‘joining’ or the ‘one flesh’ ties that we are created to be capable of, can and does work both
ways.
Satanists and witches ab-use these
joining’s for satan’s wicked purposes. Jesus told us that we should be ‘wise
as serpents’ (Matthew 10:16) i.e. know
what the serpent is up to, and by which means he is up to it.
Paul said that ‘we are not ignorant of
the devil’s schemes' (2 Corinthians 2:11) -
but sadly we have been disobedient to Jesus’ instruction and so we are ignorant
of his schemes.
Hosea 4:6 For
my people were destroyed from lack of knowledge.
In many cases it has taken Jesus to bring
people out from these evil groups into His Kingdom as trophies of grace and to
make us ‘wise as serpents’
The reason all initiates have sex with the
high priest / priestess immediately upon joining a group is not for
sexual gratification.
The high priest / priestess has
the dominant demonic within them and the one flesh link up achieved through
sexual intercourse enables them to begin exercising total control over the
group.
‘And I will give you the keys of the
kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in
heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.’ Matthew 16:19
‘Assuredly, I
say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and
whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. (Matthew 18:18)
"And these signs will follow those
who believe: In My name they will cast out demons’’.. ‘ (Mark 16:17)
‘Behold, I give you the
authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the
enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you’. (Luke 10:19)
Over ten years in
ministry I think I have seen more freedom come through cutting soul ties than
any other ministry procedure.
This is not a ’formula’ - it
is a useful tool for deliverance ministry. Prior to this short ministry,
ensure that the person receiving ministry, has put the ungodly situation that
produced the ungodly tie, right with God.

SIGNS OF AN UNHEALTHY SOUL TIE:
1. You are in a physically, and/or
emotionally, and/or spiritually abusive relationship, but you “feel” so
attached to them that you refuse to cut off the connection and set boundaries
with them.
2. You have left a relationship (maybe long
ago), but you think about the other person obsessively (you can’t get them out
of your mind).
3. Whenever you do anything – make a
decision, have a conversation with someone etc., you “feel” like this person is
with you or watching you.
4. When you have sex with someone else
(hopefully your husband or wife), you can hardly keep yourself from visualizing
the person you have a soul tie with.
5. You take on the negative traits of the
person that your soul is tied to and carry their offenses whether or not you
actually agree with them.
6. You defend your right to stay in a
relationship with the person that your soul is tied to, even though it is
negatively effecting or even destroying the important relationships in your
life (husband, wife, kids, leaders, etc.)
7. You have simultaneous experiences and/or
“moods” as the person your soul is tied to. This can even include sickness,
accidents, addictions etc.
8. You talk ‘in your head’ to a deceased
parent or loved one and asking for guidance or comfort.
Breaking SOUL TIES
There are 5 Key steps
to breaking soul ties:
1. Acknowledge
2. Confess and Repent
3. Forgive
4. Break and Remove
5. Blessing
First, we
need to acknowledge that there is a problem.
Ask the Lord to show you who you have ungodly soul ties with. Make a list if
you need to.
Secondly, we need to confess and
repent of our sins. This may involve finding a
godly accountability partner that you can confess to and who can help you walk
through the process. It maybe be a church counselor, pastor or elder or a
family member.
Next, we need to find forgiveness. We need to accept God’s forgiveness, we need to forgive
ourselves and lastly, we need to forgive our former partners or abusers.
Remember, “Unforgiveness is like drinking poison and hoping the other
person dies.”
You need to verbalize a prayer to
break off the soul ties. You need to speak it out! (Demons can't read your mind). Life and death are in the power of the tongue so when you speak out you are
declaring with your mouth the power of Christ to break the ties to your past.
You must also do an inventory and remove any mementos, (an object or item that serves to remind one of a person, past event, etc) gifts or souvenirs
from those past relationships.
Finally a blessing. Fill the empty places with the Blood of Jesus and the peace of the
Holy Spirit.
PROCEDURE:
I place both person’s names under the authority of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, who came in
the flesh.
I break the ‘spirit, soul, and body' ties between names of the two parties in the name of Jesus!
Have the person repeat
after you:
I send back
to [name of other person ]
any part of him/her,
that I have retained,
washed in the Blood of
Jesus.
And I receive
back from [name of other person],
washed in the Blood of
Jesus,
any part of me
that he/she has retained.
And in the name of
Jesus, I bind ‘any powers of darkness that came in through this ungodly tie’
and command them to leave the
person’s name and to go NOW ,‘where
Jesus commands you’!
Everyone clap your
hands together: 1-2-3 clap!
Holy Spirit, I ask
You to fill all those areas, where the enemy held captive, with your peace.
Amen!
Procedure:
An
OCCULT practitioner: (a medium, shaman)
I place (name the person being prayed for) under the authority
of Jesus Christ of Nazareth who came in the flesh, and I ask You, Lord Jesus,
to break the ungodly spirit, soul and body ties between them and (name the occult practitioners)
I ask You Lord Jesus, in Your grace and mercy, to bring back to (name the person being prayed for) everything of their 'sprit, soul and body' that (name the occult practitioners or friends here) may be holding of them.
I ask You Lord Jesus, in Your grace and mercy, to bring back to (name the person being prayed for) everything of their 'sprit, soul and body' that (name the occult practitioners or friends here) may be holding of them.
And I ask You Lord Jesus to take
away from (name the person being prayed for) everything
of (name the occult practitioners or friends here) spirit,
soul and body and return this to them.
And by faith, I
place the Shed Blood of Jesus Christ between them.
I now take authority, in Jesus'
Name over every demonic power linked into and
onto this ungodly tie, and in Jesus’
Name and I command you to leave (name the person
being prayed for) without harming him/her, and to
go only where Jesus Christ tells you to go!!!
Everyone clap your
hands together: 1-2-3 clap!
Holy Spirit, I ask
You to fill all those areas, where the enemy held captive, with your peace.
Amen!
Note: Occasionally there can be physical manifestations .
What God cannot bless He will not bless. Make sure that all the
enemies’ rights are removed before ministry otherwise power encounters can
occur which are long and tedious and unnecessary.
If all rights have been removed and there are still manifestations, use your authority in Jesus’ Name to prohibit the
demonic from using the person’s damaged emotions. This usually brings order
back into the situation. Then command the demonic to go in Jesus' Name. If a demon manifests and will not leave it means that there
are still rights to be dealt with.
If God’s people are to experience their position of freedom leaving
no bridges for the enemy to cross then ungodly ties must be cut. Ungodly
‘bindings’ must be loosed. Ungodly ‘joinings’ must be severed. Ungodly ‘one
flesh’ ties must be separated. Ungodly ‘yokings’ must be broken.
‘Is this not the fast that I have chosen
To loose the bonds of wickedness To undo the heavy burdens To let the
oppressed go free And that you break every yoke" Isaiah
58:6
